MURRAYVILLE - A group of North Hall Middle School students got a surprise visit from a special athlete Tuesday.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Justin Peelle came to the school wearing his Falcons jersey and ready to answer plenty of questions.

Peelle talked with the group of students and their parents, delivering a message for everyone.

"The message is to continue to do well in school and be a good person," said Peelle. "It's going to carry you far in life. And then giving parents a chance to spend time with their kids."

The students are all part of the Renaissance Program, which rewards kids for good grades, perfect attendance and conduct.

Each student received a t-shirt, an autograph and a pair of tickets to this Sunday's Falcons game at the Georgia Dome against the Saints.

But the kids also seemed to get a good message from the talk, as well.

"I've been struggling a little bit with my grades, so it really helped me", said eight grader Mason Ellis, who said he wants to be a professional football player when he grows up. "It was great."

"Respect your parents because some day you'll grow up like them," said eight grader Jordan Strickland, when asked what she got from Peelle's talk.

Peelle spent more than an hour at the school, two days after suffering a concussion on the football field. He also made the trip from Flowery Branch on his day off.

"It's a blast for me. I enjoy it. It's something that's part of the benefit of playing in the NFL, doing stuff like this."

Peelle is in his eighth year in the league and his second with the Falcons. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a major in political science.
