Boys basketball: Big second half propels Dawson County over Gilmer

ELLIJAY -- Jacob Evans scored 24 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead Dawson County to a 67-32 win over Gilmer Friday night.

The Tigers (6-0) outscored Gilmer 41-13 in the second half to blow open a close game at halftime. Gilmer trailed just 26-19 after outscoring Dawson County 12-6 in the second quarter.

Tyler Dominy scored 15 points and Levi Wilson 12 for Dawson County in the win.

Gilmer (1-2) was paced by nine points from Conner Webber.

Dawson County will open its Region 8-AA schedule Saturday at home taking on newcomer Walnut Grove.
