Gainesville chosen for new national school initiative

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville School System has been chosen to participate in a new national initiative addressing barriers to learning and teaching.

Only four systems nationwide were chosen for the program.

Thursday in Savannah, the three sponsoring organizations - the American Association of School Administrators, Scholastic and the UCLA Center for Mental Health in Schools - will launch the Learning Supports Collaborative, an initiative that works with school and district leaders to implement comprehensive systems of learning supports.
