PENSACOLA, Fla. - The gear used by a 51-year-old North Gwinnett who died after a dive at a sunken aircraft carrier will be sent to a lab in North Carolina for testing.

Jeff Martin, director of the Medical Examiner's Office in Pensacola, says equipment used this weekend by Timothy Teagarden of Suwanee is headed to the Divers Alert Network, a nonprofit group that promotes safe diving and provides medical information for diving injuries.

Teagarden was pronounced dead Saturday at a north Florida hospital. He was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico during a drive at the Oriskany, a decommissioned carrier that was sunk in 2006 off the coast of Pensacola Beach in the Florida Panhandle.
