GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce announces the partnership of Leadership Hall County, United Way of Hall County and the U.S. Marine Corps League in the local Toys for Tots Foundation drive.

The Upper Chattahoochee Det. #665 of the Marine Corps League are the official coordinators approved by the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation for the 2009 drive in Hall County.

"Working with the local community organizations will be a blessing for the disadvantaged children of the community," said Wally Calderon, Commandant, Marine Corps League, Upper Chattahoochee Detachment 665. "The experience of the organizations - United Way of Hall County and Leadership Hall County - and the Marines' "get it done attitude" is what will make this toy drive a huge success."
"United Way of Hall County is proud to partner with the Leadership Hall County class and the Marine Corps League in this year's Toys for Tots program," said Jackie Wallace, President, United Way of Hall County. "We know from calls to our 2-1-1 line that many families are struggling this year and our efforts are needed more than ever."

Formerly coordinated by United Way of Hall County and the Marine Corps League, Leadership Hall County will join in and assist in the local Toys for Tots program responsibilities as an ongoing community project.

Leadership Hall County was initiated by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce in 1983, and since then over 550 people have graduated from the program. Leadership Hall seeks to expose highly talented, motivated and potential leaders of Hall County to the inter-related economic, government, socio-cultural and educational issues of the community. Participants develop knowledge of the community through a series of one-day sessions on topics such as arts, education, health and social services, city and state governments, judicial, and economic development. Leadership Hall County graduates continue to be involved in many areas of volunteer and civic service in our community.
