GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville School Board moved a step closer Monday night to a decision on some badly-needed roof repairs at several schools and school facilities.

The board voted to put a new roof on the old gym at the high school.

Several other such projects are still in the works - at Enota, Woods Mill Academy and Fair Street.

Superintendent Merrianne Dyer says how they proceed on the other projects will depend on whether the board decides to replace Fair Street altogether instead of repairing it.

"It really depends on the decision about what to do with (the) Fair Street building," Dr. Dyer said. "So we are going to gather information, and give us time to think about everything by our November 16th board meeting."
