Titans whip Dawson County; shutout string ends

BOGART - North Oconee's string of shutouts came to an end Friday night but the Titans are still unbeaten after demolishing Dawson County 41-9 in Region 8-AA action.

The Titans (7-0, 6-0 in region) led 34-0 in the third quarter before Dawson County snapped the three-game scoreless streak by North Oconee with a safety following a bad snap on a third down. The Tigers (1-6, 1-5) later added a fourth quarter touchdown.

North Oconee got two touchdowns from Brandon Whitlock and quarterback Lane Thompson had the highlight of the night on an 80-yard run for a score. Marcus Alford and Dalton Green each had one touchdown for the Titans.

James Pinkerton booted two field goals for North Oconee.
