BUFORD - After 4 years of being below full pool, Lake Lanier passed the 1071 mark Wednesday morning but the the high level of the lake may come with its own set of problems.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had closed boat ramps and other facilities because of low levels but depending on how much higher the level goes now that the lake has reached full pool they may have to be closed again.

The corps Timothy Rainey tells Fox 5 "in essence it could swing the pendulum entirely the other way. Before when the boat ramps were closed because they were out of the water, now some of them may be closed because they are under water.

The level of the lake reached full pool around 9:00 Wednesday, the first time it's been that high since 2005. Early Thursday, it was 1071.19.

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle said Wednesday now is the time for the corps increase the full pool by another three feet.
