Gas prices across Ga. continue to climb

ATLANTA - The average statewide price of gasoline increased about 19 cents in the past 30 days, according to a survey compiled by AAA Georgia.

The auto club said Monday's statewide average for a gallon of regular is $1.74.
The national average is $1.84.

AAA said midgrade was $1.87 and premium cost $1.95 a gallon.

Columbus had the highest metro average for regular at $1.76. Augusta recorded the cheapest average at $1.63 a gallon.

In the Gainesville area, the cheapest, according to gasbuddy.com, is in Buford, $1.64 at two outlets; Cumming, Statham, Winder, and Dahlonega ($1.68); and, Flowery Branch ($1.69).
