Georgia's Landers on verge of 800th career win

ATHENS -- Andy Landers can land a big milestone win in his career at Georgia.

If the Georgia women's basketball team beats Savannah State on Thursday night, the win would be the 800th of Landers' career as a head coach.

Landers' 799 career wins include 82 victories in four seasons as the head coach at Roane State Community College in Harriman, Tenn. The NCAA only recognizes wins at four-year schools on its list of Division I coaching wins leaders, and that leaves Landers with a 707-225 record.

Georgia, however, does recognize Landers' wins at the junior college and is poised to celebrate the milestone.
