At a meeting Tuesday, county commissioners had been expected to decide on a cost-saving plan introduced last week by commission Chairman Danny Yearwood.
The plan would furlough county employees one day a month and cut their work week to 37.5 hours. Yearwood said that would effectively cut their salaries by 10 percent.
But newly elected commissioner Steve Worley suggested a plan that would use a sliding scale to cut all employees' salaries. The biggest cut, 10 percent, would apply to those who make more than $70,000.
