ATHENS -- Georgia cornerback Asher Allen became the third Bulldog underclassman to declare for the NFL draft on Tuesday.

The junior joined star Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno and quarterback Matthew Stafford, who already declared last week, by making his announcement at a press conference in Athens Tuesday.

Allen is the only other Georgia underclassmen said to be considering the option, after defensive tackles Jeff Owens and Geno Atkins decided to return for their senior seasons.

All underclassmen must declare for the draft by Jan. 15.

Allen is a two-year starter for the Bulldogs and played throughout much of this season with a broken bone in his right hand. After a stellar sophomore season in which he had three interceptions, 64 tackles and two sacks, Allen saw his production drop in 2008, picking off zero passes.
