HOUSTON - He walked in his only plate appearance on Sunday, but Chipper Jones is this season's batting champion in the National League. Jones edged the St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols for the crown.

Jones hit a career-high .364 to become the NL's first switch-hitting batting champion since the Braves' Terry Pendleton won in 1991.

The Braves finished their season Sunday, falling to the Astros in Houston, 3-1. It is the first 90-loss season for the Braves since they went 65-97 in 1990. Atlanta finished this season with a record of 72-90.
