GAINESVILLE - A reward is being offered in connection to vandalism at Mount Vernon Elementary School and Gainesville High School.

Mount Vernon was hit Thursday night, one day before the Gainesville-North Hall football game. Vandals struck Gainesville High early Sunday.

Hall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield said Sunday the city and county school systems are offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the vandalism.

It involved spray-painting at both schools. In addition, picnic tables and a soft drink machine were overturned at Gainesville High.
