He said the closer-than-expected game backs up his message to the 11th-ranked Crimson Tide that there are no breathers in college football.
It's a lesson he hopes they take to heart Saturday night against Western Kentucky.
The Tide won 20-6 against the Green Wave, thanks to two special teams touchdowns.
Saban also updated some injury situations.
He said left tackle Andre Smith and receiver Earl Alexander are day-to-day with injuries. Saban said Smith would practice Monday and Alexander would participate in limited fashion.
All other players are expected to play.
