GAINESVILLE - A Hall County woman's kitchen burned Thursday after she left her stove unattended.

Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a 2,000 square foot structure at 2520 Dawsonville Highway.

He said the grease that Grace Stowers was using to cook with overheated and ignited while she was in another room.

"She did have a kitchen fire," Cagle said. "The fire got up into the cabinets and also up into the attic."

Cagle said the damage was put at around $10,000.

He said Stowers was taken to Lanier Park Hospital, where she was treated for smoke inhalation. He said the fire has been ruled accidental.
