JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has suspended four players for the opener at Georgia Tech.

Offensive lineman Tyler Ogletree, tight end Deonte Carter and linebackers Alexander Henderson and Jared Stewart were punished for violating unspecified team policies during the spring.

All four suspended players saw significant action for the Gamecocks last season. Stewart and Henderson both started games and Carter was listed as the starting tight end after spring practices.

School officials did not elaborate on the reasons for the suspensions.
The Gamecocks visit Georgia Tech on Aug. 28.
