'Cats face tough non-conference schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky's 2008-09 schedule features matchups with North Carolina, Indiana and Louisville in addition to a regular slate of Southeastern Conference games.

According to the schedule released by the Wildcats on Saturday, at least 13 games are set to be televised on CBS, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Kentucky will travel to Las Vegas for the Findlay Toyoto Las Vegas Invitational, where it will be matched with Kansas State on Nov. 28 and a potential game against either Iowa or West Virginia.

The Wildcats will play at North Carolina on Nov. 18 in only the second game of the regular season. They host Indiana on Dec. 13 and visit Louisville on Jan. 4 before kicking off the SEC season against Vanderbilt on Jan. 10.

Kentucky opens the season at Rupp Arena on Nov. 14, hosting Virginia Military Institute.
