The new home of the Saints will take advantage of a content management system built specifically for college athletics. North Georgia's new site will feature dynamic content, scoreboards, links to multimedia and more. Site launch is anticipated around the start of the school year.
"We are very excited about our partnership with PrestoSports," Athletic Director Randy Dunn said. "As we continue to move our Athletics program forward, it is imperative to surround ourselves with quality partners like PrestoSports that will enhance our programs."
The department is also growing closer to an agreement with Stretch Internet which will allow fans to listen live online to contest and receive text alerts sent directly to their phone with updated news and scores. The North Georgia Sports Information Office is on the brink of producing coaches shows in 2008-09 which will record live from restaurants around the Dahlonega area.
"We could not be happier working with PrestoSports for a brand new web site," Sports Information Director David Beall said. "Our goal is to create the best site in all of Division II and we feel we are well on our way."
North Georgia becomes the third member of the Peach Belt Conference to partner with PrestoSports. Georgia Southwestern State University launched a site at www.gswcanes.com earlier this year, while Armstrong Atlantic State University's new site is in development. PrestoSports began its partnership with the Peach Belt Conference in the summer of 2007 with the web site launch of www.peachbeltconference.org.
"We're excited to work with another fine institution in the Peach Belt Conference," says PrestoSports Vice President Patrick Summers. "As North Georgia begins to make its mark on NCAA Division II, we're pleased they have chosen PrestoSports to help promote the Saints on and off the field."
