Gwinnett County Fire Capt. Thomas Rutledge said the balloon was from a charter service in the Cumming area. Rutledge noted that the balloon made an unscheduled landing and did not crash. He said no one was hurt and no structures were damaged.
There were three people on board the balloon - the pilot and two passengers.
Rutledge said it's not something his department sees every day. "It is unique. We dispatched what we would for a report of an aircraft that was down until we knew if there were any injuries or any structures involved." Most equipment was returned after authorities assessed the situation and determined it was not serious.
