ATLANTA (AP) - Secretary of State Karen Handel told a judge that it would be "impossible" to change the state's photo ID requirement for the state's July 15th primary, now just days away.

Handel is testifying Thursday in Fulton County Superior Court. The state Democratic Party is seeking a temporary restraining order against the photo ID mandate. Arguing for the state party, lawyer Emmet Bondurant said the law violates the Georgia Constitution.

Handel said that some 15,000 poll workers have already been trained. And at least 90,000 Georgians have already cast a ballot as part of advance voting this week.

Georgia's law requiring photo ID for those casting in-person ballots has been in effect since September.
