Hall County Sheriff's Maj. Jeff Strickland said the preliminary investigation indicates that the 45-year-old McDonough man had taken his boat to the marina service dock the night before and spent the night on the boat with a generator running.
"It appears that carbon monoxide fumes from the generator filled the boat and caused the death of the victim," Strickland said.
He said the death appears accidental and no foul play is suspected.
