HCSO School Resource Officer program gains national acclamation

GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Sheriff's Office School Resource program has been selected to receive the Model School Resource Officer (SRO) Agency Award by the National Association of School Resource Officers.

The Model SRO Program Award is awarded annually to a law enforcement agency which has shown excellence in several areas, while implementing or maintaining a SRO program.

Sheriff Steve Cronic says he takes great pride in the award given to Hall County SROs, but says more people than just the officers share in the achievement.

"It's one thing we take great pride in, but the whole community can share in," notes Cronic, "and, of course, our strong partnership with the school system."

Cronic says his office has worked hard to give young people the tools they need to keep them on the right path.
