SOCIAL CIRCLE - A black bear was killed on Highway 20 in Forsyth County Friday morning.

Scott Frazier, a Wildlife Biologist with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, said this bear had been near busy metro areas before.

"This bear was wearing a radio collar and it's the same bear that had been previously seen in Fulton, Cobb and Cherokee counties," Frazier said.

He said it's unusual that this bear was a female, since most black bears that wander into suburban areas are males.

Frazier said this is the fourth bear hit on an Atlanta-area road since May.
