Systemwide CRCT results released by state BOE

ATLANTA - Forsyth County is claiming bragging rights to the highest CRCT results in the Gainesville area.

Forsyth schools ranked number one in four categories and was one of the top five highest scoring districts in 22 out of 34 categories.

"We are thrilled and ecstatic to receive these scores. There are a lot of reasons to celebrate these CRCT results," said Superintendent L.C. (Buster) Evans. "Our teachers have done a phenomenal job at delivering the standards-based curriculum to promote high levels of learning for our students. We commend our educators, students and parents for their outstanding work throughout the school year. These scores are certainly something we can all be very proud of."

Gwinnett, Buford, White and Habersham had some of the higher ranges of scores.

In Gwinnett, that range was from 94.4 percent who passed fourth grade Social Studies to 68.8 percent who passed eighth grade Social Studies; in Buford, 95.7 percent of fourth graders passed the Social Studies part of the test and 65.6 percent of sixth graders passed Science; in White County, 97.2 percent of second graders passed Reading with 67.4 percent of 8th graders passing Math; and, in Habersham, the range was 92.8 percent of eighth graders who passed Reading to 63.8 percent of eighth graders who passed Social Studies.

The highest passing percentiles in different categories for Gainesville City Schools ranged from 52.2 for eighth-grade Science to 93.4 for first-grade Reading. Among Hall County students who took the CRCT, the range was from 60.6 of eighth graders who passed Math to 90.8 percent of sixth graders who passed Reading.
