Qualifying begins for judgeships

UNDATED - Qualifying began Monday for Superior Court and State Court judges in Georgia, as well as justices on the state Court of Appeals and the state Supreme Court.

Those who signed up in the Gainesville area included a host of incumbents, among them Superior Court judges Kathlene Gosselin and Bonnie Oliver of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Hall and Dawson counties. Also qualifying for re-election were Hall County State Court judges Charles Wynne and Gene Roberts.

Elsewhere in the area, the following people qualified for Superior Court judgeships:

*Bell-Forsyth Circuit:

David Dickenson (I)

*Enotah Circuit:

Murphy C. Miller (I)

*Piedmont Circuit

Currie Mingledorff (for the post now held by Adamson

Joseph H. Booth (I)

David Motes (I)

*Gwinnett Circuit:

Ronnie Keith Batchelor (I)

Michael C. Clark (I)

Melodie Snell Conner (I)

Warren Davis (I)

Dawson Jackson (I)

Richard T. Winegarden (I)

Qualifying ends Friday. The candidates in these races will run in the November General Election since these offices are considered non-partisan.
