State schools Superintendent Kathy Cox threw out the sixth- and seventh-grade social studies results after discovering that 70-80 percent of those students failed the test. Cox said the test questions did not reflect what students had been taught and hastily called a committee to revamp the state's curriculum.
The changes are posted online for public comment until Aug. 11.
The state school board will vote on the changes at the end of the summer.
