Charles Pharr, award-winning photographer, dies

GAINESVILLE - The funeral will be Wednesday for Charles Pharr, a photographer whose work no doubt adorns the walls of hundreds of homes in and around Gainesville.

Pharr was a partner in Magic Craft studios in Gainesville and later opened his own business, Pharr Studio, in Buford.

He was an award winning photographer for more than 35 years and was past president of the Georgia Professional Photographer's Association. Pharr was also past president of the South Hall Lions Club and also past president of the Gainesville Business Men's Association.

Pharr, who died early Monday following an extended illness, was 71.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. (A full obituary is on the Obituaries page of this Web site.)
