Shore, a Jefferson resident, earned his first win of the season in the Outlaw Late Model class.
-- TOYOTA TUNDRA SUPER TRUCKS: Paul Antley put on a show from the start of the Toyota Tundra Super Trucks race at Peach State Speedway. Antley started the 30 lap feature in 8th place and passed on the outside and inside to take the lead on lap 12. Antley had a good lead until a debris caution on lap 23 pulled the field together. On the double file restart Antley got a good jump on Wes Whitfield for the win.
-- OUTLAWS LATE MODELS: Local Jefferson fireman Russell Shore won the Outlaw Late Model 30 lap feature in a close battle with David Murphy. The race had a scary moment on lap 3 when the 93 car of Terry Martin spun out in turn two and developed an engine fire due to leaking oil. On the restart Mike Davidson of Lula, in the 27 car, had a good restart to go into the lead. The top 3 raced under a blanket until on lap 12 when Shore and Davidson got together and turn two and this allowed Murphy into the lead. On lap 27 Shore finally was able to get past Murphy after racing side by side for four laps. This was Shore's first win of the season.
-- MINI STOCKS: Steven Hill won the Mini Stock race after 30 laps of beating, banging, side by side racing in the 21 car field. On the 8th caution of the night on lap 21 the 74 car of Michael Buckner lost control off of turn 4 and ran into the water barrels at the end of pit road. Then all heck broke loose as the 0 car of Spanky Hicks and the 25 car of Robby Erwin got together trying to avoid the 74 car. The end result was Erwin rolling side of side down the front and coming to a rest across the start/finish line right side up. Thankfully all drivers walked away from the crash.
