Windom named NJCAA All-American honorable mention

Jace Windom, a 2006 graduate of Gainesville High, was recently named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) honorable mention All-American after his 19th place finish at the NJCAA National Championship in Huntsville, Ala.

Windom, who plays for Wallace State Community College recorded scores of 75, 76, 76, 75 on the 7,200-yard Hampton Cove Course.

This season, Windom had one tournament victory, five top-five finishes, and was named to the All-Region and All-District Teams. He was also named to the all-tournament team in six tournaments. This was his second season qualifying for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. He finished 23rd as a freshman in Mesa, Ariz.

Windom will attend the University of West Georgia for the next two years on a full scholarship. He is the son of Jack and Lisa Windom of Gainesville.
