ATLANTA - Georgia residents affected by the March 14 storms that tore across the state have until Monday to ask for federal aid and to file their taxes.

Residents in Fulton, DeKalb, Bartow, Burke, Floyd, Polk and Jefferson counties are eligible for the assistance following a series of tornadoes and severe storms that hit the state. One tornado ripped a swath through downtown Atlanta. Officials also gave residents affected an extension on filing federal income taxes.
