GSC holds 14th annual math tournament

GAINESVILLE - The 14th annual Gainesville State College Math Tournament was recently held in Gainesville, with record participation numbers in both students and colleges. <br /> <br /> Representing 12 colleges from five southeastern states, nearly 100 students competed in the one-day event. Students were challenged by a morning individual round involving calculus and an afternoon team round involving algebra, geometry and other pre-calculus topics.<br /> <br /> For the second consecutive year, Georgia Perimeter College swept top honors in the college, team and individual categories. Last year's individual winner, Perry Atangcho from the Dunwoody campus of Georgia Perimeter, became the first student in tournament history to successfully defend his individual title. <br /> <br /> Gainesville State College, as host, placed two students in the top 25: Patrick Gallogly and Devin McDuffie.
