Gainesville man dies after falling from a tree

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man died Sunday after he fell while cutting a tree in his neighbor's yard. <br /> <br /> Hall County Sheriff's Maj. Jeff Strickland said 36-year-old Demecio Riverra had climbed up and was cutting a branch from the top of a large, rotten tree. <br /> <br /> "The base of the tree broke and toppled, causing Riverra to fall to his death," Strickland said.<br /> <br /> He said deputies responded to the incident in the 2000 block of Vaughandale Circle around 3:45 p.m. Sunday.<br /> <br /> "The incident appears accidental and no foul play is expected," Strickland said. <br /> <br /> The incident is still under investigation.<br />
