Sam's Club moving by end of May, creating 40 new jobs

OAKWOOD - Sam's Club will move into its new location on Mundy Mill Road in Oakwood by the end of the month, adding new services and more than 40 new jobs. At the same time, it will be awarding $18,000 in grant to local charities and community organizations.

Sam's Club is a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and the new location will be next to the Oakwood Wal-Mart, which opened a year ago.

Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 15.

Some of the new services to be offered at the Mundy Mill location include:

· Pharmacy

· Optical Center

· One hour photo center

· A members-only gas station and a car wash that reclaims approximately 70 percent of the water used

The Sam's Club Oakwood Good Works Grant Recipients are:

*Boys and Girls Club of Hall County Inc. $5,000
*Gainesville State College Foundation Inc. $2,500
*Educational Foundation & Museum of Beulah Rucker Inc. $1,500
*Junior Achievement Of Georgia Inc. $1,000
*East Hall High School Navy Junior ROTC (NJROTC) $1,000
*Elachee Nature Science Center $1,000
*Challenged Child & Friends Inc. $1,000
*Humane Society of Hall County $1,000
*Good News Clinics $1,000
*Flowery Branch Police Dept. $1,000
*Oakwood Police Dept. $1,000
*American Red Cross, Northeast Georgia Chapter $1,000
