Baseball: Vikings hand White County costly loss (4/28)

CLEVELAND -- The East Hall baseball team played spoiler Monday as the Vikings handed White County a costly loss, 9-7, in a key Region 7-AAA game.

East Hall (9-15, 8-12 in region) banged out 17 hits in the game, led by Ken Wise, Chris Cornett, and Wesley Johns with three hits each. Zeb Miller had two hits, including a home run and three RBI while Drew Adams and Cody Davidson had two hits each.

Wise also picked up the win on the mound going the distance allowing 11 hits and striking out three while allowing five earned runs.

The loss for the Warriors (13-11, 11-9) puts them two games behind North Hall (16-8, 13-7) for the final playoff spot with two games left in the season.

White County has games left against West Forsyth at home Wednesday and then a road game Friday at West Hall.

North Hall plays host to Flowery Branch Wednesday then travels to West Forsyth Thursday.
