CLEMSON, S.C. -- Kyle Parker's three-run homer in the eighth inning provided the winning runs as Clemson beat Virginia Tech 8-7 on Saturday night.

The Hokies (18-25, 4-19 Atlantic Coast Conference) scored two runs in the top of the ninth, but Anthony Sosnoskie struck out with men on second and third to end the game.

Parker had three of Clemson's eight hits, adding a solo home run and a double. Doug Hogan has a three-run homer in the sixth for the Tigers (23-20-1, 9-13-1).
Steve Bumbry had three of Virginia Tech's 15 hits, but the Hokies stranded 14 runners, while Clemson left just two on base.

The Tigers will try to sweep the three-games series Sunday. The game has been moved up to 10 a.m. because of the threat of thunderstorms.
