Georgia (19-10, 8-3 Southeastern Conference) completed the sweep using strong bullpen pitching. The bullpen has not allowed an earned run in its past nine conference games, tossing four more scoreless innings bringing the total to 29.1 innings.
In the second game, the Bulldogs tied the game in the eighth inning on a two-run single by Ryan Peisel, who also hit a solo homer in the first inning.
Rich Poythress hit a go-ahead RBI single in the same inning and Byrce Massanari followed with a run-scoring single to put Georgia up for good.
Georgia reliever Alex McRee (5-1) picked up the win, while Dean Weaver collected his second save of the season.
Will Atwood (3-1) gave up five runs and five hits in 7 2-3 innings for the Gamecocks (20-9, 6-5). Reese Havens had two solo homers.
In the first game, Joshua Fields (1-1) won the first game in relief for the Bulldogs.
