Soccer: Chestatee girls clinch playoff spot (4/3)

OAKWOOD - In a game that would decide one of four playoff spots from Region 7-AAA, Chestatee's Kelsey Neukum scored with just 1:56 left in the game to give the Lady War Eagles a 1-0 victory over West Hall and a trip to the Class AAA playoffs.

Megan Fligg set up the game-winning goal streaking down the left flank from mid-field and found Neukum with a crossing pass in front of the goal.

Daniela Sotelo played well defensively for Chestatee at the center defensive position. Abi Mills and Lauren Ables were effective in mid-field.

West Hall (7-7-1, 4-4-0) had several threats with five corner-kicks but could not find the net.

Chestatee (10-7-0, 7-2-0) outshot West Hall 9-4 for the game.

Chestatee finishes the season on April 15th at home against Flowery Branch. A win by the War Eagles would force a three-way tie for 2nd place in the region with Gainesville and Flowery Branch.
