CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson coach Tommy Bowden says he liked the way his defensive line looked at his team's first scrimmage, but wishes his Tigers could have gotten more work.

Saturday's scrimmage was halted after 29 plays because of lightning.

Bowden says he challenged his defensive line after they looked bad in goal line situations Wednesday and they responded by getting a lot of pressure on the quarterbacks. The defense got four sacks in the 29 plays.

Tyler Grisham was the offensive star of the short scrimmage, catching a 23-yard pass from Cullen Harper and running for 35 yards on two reverses.

Clemson's spring game will be April 12.
