The Humane Society of Hall County has scheduled a second emergency rabies clinic April 19 at the animal shelter on Ridge Road.
More than 400 animals were vaccinated at the first, which was held a week ago, and at that time Executive Director Rick Aiken said another was likely.
Like the first one, it will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
The emergency clinics are in response to the unprecedented outbreak of rabies in Hall County this year. The 13th case was confirmed on Wednesday.
As a result, Aiken and Hall County Animal Control Director Rick Phillips say you should not delay in getting your dogs and cats vaccinated.
Dr. Doug Tanner, the veterinarian from the shelter's wellness clinic, will again be giving the shots. Dr. Fred Ingle from Clermont Veterinary Hospital is also donating his time to help.
The cost is $10 per shot. Puppies and kittens must be 3 months old for rabies inoculations. All pets must be in a carrier or securely leashed.
