Dickenson returns to Gwinnett

Duluth - The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Lou Dickenson is rejoining the team following a call-up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The Orleans, Ontario native was called up on March 11th and played in six games with the Bears, but failed to score.

Hershey was Dickenson's second AHL team this season, as the forward spent three games with the Manitoba Moose earlier this season.

Dickenson has also played in 55 games with the Gladiators this season tallying 61 points on 28 goals and 33 assists. His 28 goals is good for the team lead and ranks him in the top twenty in the ECHL. It also marks a North American career best for goals in a season.

Dickenson should be available for the Gladiators when the take on the Florida Everblades in Estero, FL on Friday.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
