Families will be delighted as they meet Patrick James, Kelsey Ann and Kendall Ashby, who are honored to be a part of this historical event.
"We're very excited, especially in light of our celebrating our 25th anniversary of Cabbage Patch Kids," said Margaret McLean, director of corporate communications for BabyLand General Hospital in Cleveland.
The White House Easter Egg Roll is an annual family event for kids of all ages to hunt for and race Easter Eggs on the White House Lawn while enjoying a morning of storytelling and a visit with the Easter Bunny.
This holiday tradition has a long history dating back to 1878, when President Rutherford B. Hayes officially opened the White House grounds to local children for egg rolling on Easter Monday. Successive presidents have continued the tradition of inviting children to the White House Lawn for egg rolling and other activities and entertainment.
At the White House Easter Egg Roll children of all ages enjoy the reading corners, egg coloring, art activities, face painting, music, magicians and other activities. Strolling characters interact with the children as they roam the South Lawn.
At the reading corners, visitors are treated to storytelling by authors of popular children's books, athletes, Cabinet members and other senior administration officials.
"It's such an honor to be around the children and to be able to be a part of such a wonderful event," McLean said.
