GAINESVILLE - Over 400 pet owners and their pets showed up Saturday for the emergency rabies clinic in Gainesville - held by the Humane Society of Hall County in response to the rash of rabies cases so far this year.

The parking lot was full by 9 a.m., just 30 minutes after the clinic began.

Danny Cline was among the early arrivals. He was there with his two Jack Russell Terriers.

One of them, 'Sissy', was waiting comfortably on Cline's shoulders, turns out it's one of her favorite resting spots.

"I've just heard there's so much rabies going on...I thought I'd just bring them both in to get their shots," Cline said.

Margaret McDaniel from Flowery Branch brought her cat in for the $10 rabies shot.

"I don't think he's had any shots," she said. "He occasionally slips out of the house."

The 12th confirmed case of rabies this year in Hall County was reported Friday - most of them in North Hall the past three weeks. (See separate story).
