That hasn't been a common a sight the last few years as the veteran left-hander battled elbow and other injuries.
Hampton, making a comeback after missing all of the past two seasons, made 59 pitches in the four-inning outing prior to last night's 11-4 exhibition victory by the Braves over Cleveland.
Hampton's twice-repaired elbow hasn't been a problem this spring, but he had to leave a start last Friday against Detroit in the second inning after slightly straining his right groin.
Last night, he said he got the work he needed, and feels as though he is on track to start the season.
Hampton is scheduled to pitch again on Monday, then would have time to make two more starts before the regular season begins.
