ATLANTA (AP) The Yellow Jackets swept the three-game season-opening series for both teams by yielding only one run, following 14-0 and 1-0 victories in the first two games of the series.

Youngstown ended a streak of 19.2 scoreless innings when Eric Marzec opened the second inning with a single, advanced to third on Dustin Wachter's single and scored on a two-out single by Sean Lucas.

Tech tied it in the second on Tony Plagman's home run, his first of the season.

Tech put the game away in the eighth inning. Chase Burnette singled, Chris House sacrificed and Derek Dietrich singled to send Burnette to third. Blackmon's fielder's choice broke the 1-1 tie before Luke Murton added a two-run single and Patrick Long RBI single.

Ryan Sellman (0-1) took the loss for Youngstown, giving up two runs on two hits while getting only one out. Brad Rulon (1-0), third of four Tech pitchers, worked a perfect eighth to get the victory.
