ATHENS, Ga. - Diallo Fon's three-run homer in the eighth inning highlighted an Arizona comeback for a 9-8 victory over Georgia today, giving the Wildcats the rubber game of the three-game season-opening series.

Fon's homer came after the Wildcats had rallied for five runs in the seventh to erase a 4-0 deficit. That rally featured a two-run single by pinch hitter Mike Weldon and a bases-loaded double by C.J. Ziegler.

In the Georgia ninth, Ryan Peisel had a solo homer off Mike Colla (1-0) and Rich Poythress hit a two-run homer off Daniel Schlereth before Joey Lewis got the final run with an RBI pinch single.

Colla gave up two runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings. He fanned three and walked two.

Peisel also had a two-run single for the Bulldogs in the third inning.

Georgia starter Nathan Moreau blanked the Wildcats on three hits for six innings.
