GAINESVILLE - Three Gainesville teens were in the wrong place at the wrong time on Tuesday.

Agents with the county's Gang Task Force were on the campus of the Lanier Career School on another matter when they said they saw 18-year-old Ronald Gomez of Gainesville sell marijuana to two other teens.

Lt. Scott Ware said Gomez is a "documented member of the criminal street gang BOE."

He said Gomez sold the pot to 17-year-old Adan Ayala and 18-year-old Robert Ivan Mendez, both of Gainesville.

Lt. Ware said Gomez had more than one ounce of marijuana in his possession. All three teens were arrested and taken to the Hall County Detention Center.

Gomez was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana; and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a public school.

Ayala and Mendez were each charged with possession of marijuana.

Ware says Gomez was known to the officers who made the arrests.
