Nearly 3,000 affected by power outage in Lula

LULA - Nearly 3,000 Georgia Power customers were affected by a power outage in Lula Tuesday.

Georgia Power spokesman John Sell said some equipment failed at the Lula substation around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

"It is a good part of the City of Lula," Sell said.

Traffic was affected, with the signal being out at the Georgia 365/Georgia 52 intersection.

Power had been restored to most people be mid-evening but it was expected to be late into the night before the last 200 were back on line.
