CLEVELAND - A good turnout of voters was seen at the polls in White County on Super Tuesday. Those voting on election day and those who took advantage of the advance voting last week equaled to 47.72 percent of the county's 12,614 registered voters.

White County voters strongly favored Mike Huckabee on the Republican side. He received 41 percent of the vote, followed by 29 percent for John McCain and 24 percent for Mitt Romney. On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton was the big vote-getter in White County, with 58 percent of the vote. Barack Obama received 34 percent and John Edwards 5 percent.

The White County elections superintendent said it was another good election day in the county and commended the poll workers for an excellent job during the election process.
