It happened about 11:15 on Highway 326 and involved two cars, according to state troopers.
Killed was Tommy Flynn, 28, Nicholson, a passenger in one of the vehicles.
A second person who was injured, James Binkley of Danielsville, was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center.
